News for all visitors interested in seeing the Calcio Storico Fiorentino this June
This year, because of local, regional and European elections taking place over two weekends in June, the city has chosen to move the date of the final Calcio Storico match up from June 24, when it is always played, to Saturday June 15.
I know this isn’t good news for all of those that had planned to visit Florence over the June 24th local holiday precisely to watch the Calcio Storico final match – but it will be good news for all of those that will be visiting earlier in the month.
Dates for the Semifinals
The dates of the semi-final matches also reflect the change for this year and will be played on June 1 and 2. The Azzurri of Santa Croce will play against the Verdi of San Giovanni on Saturday, June 1st, and then the Bianchi of Santo Spirito will play against the Rossi of Santa Maria Novella on Sunday, June 2nd.
