If you’re in Florence for the long holiday weekend this mid-August, take advantage to immerse yourself with art at Florence’s top museums! In fact, the national holiday falls on Tuesday, making this the perfect opportunity for many to take a long weekend and for museums such as the Uffizi and Accademia to hold special openings on Monday, August 14th (it is their usual closing day). Both museums will be open from 8:15am to 6:50pm on Monday.
If you wish to visit other museums on Monday, head to the Boboli Gardens which will remain open until 7:30pm.
On Ferragosto (Tuesday, August 15), you can head to the Uffizi during the evening as they hold their summer longer opening for #UffiziLive cultural festival or to the Boboli Gardens or to the museums of the Pitti Palace.
The museums of the Bargello (National Museum of the Bargello, Palazzo Davanzati and the Medici Chapels) wwill be open with normal hours on both August 14 and 15. On Monday the 14th, the Orsanmichele museum will also be open.
